Phones are good for poetry

The other day I was sitting in a very small room in my house and I realized that I had some spare time on my hands. Because I have a full keyboard on my phone I often use it to write notes, lists and text messages, but I had never used it to write any prose or poetry. I thought it a waste to have a mini typewriter with me at all times and never writing my thoughts down at any length longer than 144 characters of a twitter.

So I wrote this poem:

Through, within, and surrounding all
The spirit floats and petals fall
Just as though the noonday sun
Throughout the evening is undone

And though he may become a friend
The least of these is to defend
And onward you the voice commands
As humans join with Bono fans

Now, this is a pretty great peice of poetic work. But I wasn’t satisfied. I thought that I should do more with my electronic sidekick. But I didn’t.

Here is a picture of my son Maverick. (weird ending huh?)

Motorcycle Helmets

I’ve been getting a lot of flack lately for not wearing a motorcycle helmet. I know that people like to be cautious and that it’s a fine goal in life to stay alive. But, I think there is a degree in which either goal can be taken too far.

If you are living your life just to not get hurt and to stay alive you wouldn’t really go anywhere or leave you bed would you? If you were a cautious person you wouldn’t drive a car or wear a tank top outside in the sun would you? While these things would make you cautious and careful and keep you alive, they would also be going somewhat overboard.

So, in a sense, everyone is cautious and careful and trying to stay alive. I’ve never met anyone who was not somewhat cautious. Some would start to name people that they consider stupid for the activities they do. Some would think of bullriders, or motorcycle racers, or firemen, or soldiers, or skydivers, or gang members. But everyone thinks of someone that is less cautious than themselves. But there is always someone who would consider you crazy and risky and dangerous.

Therefore, caution and carefulness comes in varying degrees. Yet, I believe, while there may be some on the extreme low end of risk, there are none on the high end of risk. Perhaps because they are all dead. My point is that while you have chosen a certain degree of caution to integrate into your lifestyle you should not try to impose that degree of caution onto everyone else.

I believe in absolute truth, and right and wrong. I don’t believe that every person can decide what is right for them because there is absolute truth. But I do believe that there is no right or wrong when it comes to the level of caution in which one should live there life. Life is for living, and each gets to choose his or her level of caution by which to live.

These choices are only judged by those who exercise more caution in there lives. The people who are less cautious don’t care to tell everyone else to be less cautious like them. Perhaps it is because the more cautious the person the more caring and thoughtful they are and want to help the less cautious. Or it is because the more cautious the person, the less experienced they are in many activities and lifestyles, and therefor unable to understand the real risks involved. Maybe they judge because they don’t understand, or wish they could live there lives as free and uninhibited as the less cautious person but are too afraid to take those risks.

With all this being said. I have decided to wear a helmet on my motorcycle. I used to refuse just because most people see motorcycles as dangerous and wanted me to wear one. But now I will wear one because I think I should instead of letting other people’s thoughts and comments effect me.

This entire glob can be summed up this way:

You’re gonna die when you’re gonna die and there’s nothing you can do about it. It just depends on how you want to live until you die.”

I love my watch

It seems, for some reason, that every day I like the watch that I wear a little more.

I’m not sure why I like this thing on my arm more and more every day. Perhaps it is because of its unending faithfulness to me. Or the fact that it is always there when I need it. Or because it is just the most awesome watch ever and my super wife gave it to me for christmas.

Whatever the reason, my watch is awesome. I would even go so far as to say that my watch is far superior to your time keeping device.

I will now state the facts to back up my reasoning:
-My watch is solar powered-My watch is a cool silver color
-My watch is not to small and not too big
-My watch has 4 alarms
-My watch will light up automatically when I turn my wrist towards my face
-My watch is shock resistant
-My watch is water resistant to 200 meters
-My watch ALWAYS has the right time because it has a built in receiver that gets the correct time from the national atomic clock in Boulder Colorado every morning at 2am.
-My watch is a Casio G-Shock MTG-900

And so, in summation, I love my watch.Thank you and good day!

Definition of a Clog

So I guess to have a blog is the thing to do now days.

I haven’t ever really had the time, and I still don’t.  So I don’t know why I am starting one.

This is more than a blog.  This is a Coy Blog. This is a CLOG. This can mean only one thing: all the stuff that clogs my brain may end up here on this page in little globs.

That’s it! This is a clog, full of globs!
